Chapters 1-2, 5-6, pp186-192 (web design vs print)

I had an understanding before i took this class on what the internet is, what an ISP provider is and what the difference was on the type of connection you have. Some are faster some are slower. I learned the four key principles to making a graphic design that you need to follow if you want to be able to keep the persons attention and not have them go on to something else: alignment, proximity, repetition, and contrast.
Graphic design plays a role in our everyday lives and activities in that if we need information about something or if were going somewhere. With print or even with the web we can get information about a certain topic were interested in, find out dates and times of an event or just wanting to explore and learn something new. One thing i did learn with printed material you can take it with you but it might not always be the correct information, especially if something was updated where as web you're sure to get the updated information.
Designing for print is different then designing for the web in that with print once it's printed and there's anything wrong you have to have it printed all over. Also down the road if the information changes there again you have to go and have it reprinted. Time and money to have this done. Where as with the web you don't have to go any where. Just go in change or update anything and boom it's done in a matter of a few minutes. You don't have to go anywhere or pay alot of money.
